FOOTBALL - The USC Trojans defeated the Stanford Cardinal 45-23 in Palo Alto. The running plays were key in the Trojan's victory, as QB Mark Sanchez struggled in the first half. The game was tied going into the second half when UCS pulled away to avenge their loss last year to the Cardinal. C.J. Gable had 85 rushing yards with a 93-yd TD kickoff return, and Stafon Johnson had 2 TDs and 115 yards.
BASKETBALL - The USC men's basketball team defeated UC Irvine 78-55. Freshman DeMar DeRozan 14 points with 3 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist. Dwight Lewis led USC with 18 points. Darren Moore led UCI with 16 points.
