Big Drew Carey: Shaq Traded to Cleveland

Shaquille O'Neal was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Yahoo Sports. The deal sent Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, and the Cavs' 46th overall draft pick to Phoenix. Shaq has won four championships, and played with the likes of Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade and Steve Nash, arguably three of the greatest players of this generation. Now O'Neal will play with possibly the greatest as his newest teammate is none other than LeBron James. The trade will no doubt create more buzz, tension, and marketing when Cleveland plays the Lakers, with the matchup of Kobe versus LeBron and Shaq.

Kobe is a Distant Second in MVP Race

LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA's MVP award for the season, collecting 109 of 121 possible first-place votes. Kobe Bryant was a distant second with just two first-place votes after winning the award last year. Dwyane Wade came in third and Dwight Howard finished in fourth.

Kobe & Shaq Reunion Dominates All-Star Game

For the NBA's annual All-Star Game in Phoenix, there was no one more excited than Laker fans. Kobe Bryant was named a starter, Phil Jackson was named head coach of the Western Conference, Pau Gasol was named a reserve, and former-Laker Shaquille O'Neal was named a reserve as well. The West defeated the East 146-119 in a purely offensive game, with both Kobe and Shaq being named Co-MVPs of the game. Kobe scored a game-high 27 points and had a game-high 4 steals. Shaq scored 17 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in less than 11 minutes. Gasol had 14 points and 8 rebounds off the bench. LeBron James of Cleveland led the East with 20 points, and Boston's Paul Pierce came off the bench to scored 18. Dwyane Wade of Miami scored 18 points as well, and Orlando's Dwight Howard had 13 points and 9 rebounds. Amare Stoudemire of Phoenix added 19 points to the West, and New Orleans's Chris Paul scored 14 points and added 14 assists.

Zach-Attack Can't Bring Clips Back

The Los Angeles Clippers fell to the Miami Heat 119-95, despite the return of star forward Zach Randolph from a knee injury. The Clips could not contain Miami, who had a .556 shooting percentage and 9 blocked shots. Randolph had 21 points, and both Eric Gordon and Marcus Camby scored 12 points. Dwyane Wade finished with 32 points and 9 assists for the Heat, and Michael Beasley added 18 points.

Lakers Stand Through Miami

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat, avenging the loss to the Heat in mid-December and improving to 30-6. The Lakers, still without Lamar Odom, saw six players hit double-figures, including all 5 starters. Andrew Bynum led LA with 24 points, including a clutch tip-in at the end of the fourth quarter to break a 102-all tie. Kobe Bryant had 19 points with 7 assists, and Vladimir Radmanovic scored a season-high 18 points. Pau Gasol had 14 points and 18 rebounds, and Derek Fisher snagged 13 points to with 11 assists. Sasha Vujacic came off the bench to score 10 points. Dwyane Wade scored a game-high 27 points to go with 9 assists for the Heat, and Michael Beasley had 24 points.

Lakers Get Burned by Wade

The Los Angeles Lakers were defeated by the Miami Heat 89-87, only the Lakers' 4th loss of the season. LA commited 21 turnovers, and shot 52.6% from the free-throw line. Kobe Bryant went for a quick 2 at the buzzer for overtime, but the shot went in and out. NBA's top scorer Dwyane Wade led the game with 35 points, his 11th 30-point game of the season. Kobe scored 28 points, and Pau Gasol returned after recovering from strep throat to score 13 points and snag 11 rebounds.

Clippers Stand Heat

The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Miami Heat 97-96 for their third win of the season. LA staved off a late Miami surge to get the victory, their first against an east coast team. Ex-Knick Zach Randolph had his best Clipper game with 27 points and 13 rebounds, a drastic improvement from his last game where he scored only 7. Al Thornton also had 27, and Baron Davis had 15 with 9 assists. Chris Kaman had to sit out with a strained arch. Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 26 points and 11 assists.
