It's Official: Manny's Back

Manny Ramirez and the Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a 2-year, $45 million contract with an escape clause after the first year and a no-trade clause, according to MLB.com. The salary will be deferred, and if Manny does not exercise his escape-clause, he can receive payments for the next eight years. The deal culminated a long and tenuous process that saw the Dodgers make 4 different offers to Manny, as well as three counter-offers from agent Scott Boras in the last week. Manny will undergo a physical and report to Spring Training. Manager Joe Torre estimates it will take a week for Manny to play in games.
