Kings Use Early Start to Clinch Win

The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Edmonton Oilers 2-1. Alexander Frolov and Wayne Simmonds both scored in the first period for LA, and Jonathan Quick made 38 saves to help get the Kings the win. Fernando Pisani scored the Oilers' only goal. The loss eliminates Edmonton from playoff contention.

Kings Can't Get Past Slick Oilers

The Los Angeles Kings fell to the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 in a shootout, and remain 4 points behind the Oilers in the conference standings for the eighth playoff spot. Dwayne Roloson made 39 saves for Edmonton, including two key saves in the shootout. Drew Doughty scored on a power-play goal in the second period, and Dustin Brown scored to tie the game for LA with 26 seconds left. The Oilers scored both goals in the first period, one coming from Dustin Penner and the other from Shawn Horcoff. Ales Hemsky had an assist for each Oiler goal. The Kings could not put the puck in the net during the shootout, losing 2-0.

Kings' Rally Comes Up Short

The Los Angeles Kings were defeated by the Edmonton Oilers 5-4 on a shootout. Edmonton scored 3 first period goals on goalie Erik Ersberg, but the Kings came back with 4 goals in the second, each one from a different player (Frolov, Handzus, Stoll, and Kopitar). Jason LaBarbera came in for Ersberg in the second, and had 30 saves. However, Dustin Penner got one past LaBarbera for a goal in the third, forcing the game into overtime, and eventually a shootout. The Oilers won the SO 2 to 1.

Kings Get Slick Win

The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 on the road. Jason LaBarbera had a rare start, and made it pay off with 22 saves. Anze Kopitar and Patrick O'Sullivan each had goals for LA.
