Kings' Rally Comes Up Short

The Los Angeles Kings were defeated by the Edmonton Oilers 5-4 on a shootout. Edmonton scored 3 first period goals on goalie Erik Ersberg, but the Kings came back with 4 goals in the second, each one from a different player (Frolov, Handzus, Stoll, and Kopitar). Jason LaBarbera came in for Ersberg in the second, and had 30 saves. However, Dustin Penner got one past LaBarbera for a goal in the third, forcing the game into overtime, and eventually a shootout. The Oilers won the SO 2 to 1.
