Randy Wolf struggled in his first start, surrendering four runs in less than six innings on six hits and three walks. Manny Ramirez doubled and scored a run, and Russell Martin doubled, scored, and knocked in a run. Matt Kemp had two hits. Ronald Belisario made his first appearance with the Dodgers, pitching a perfect inning of relief. Kevin Kouzmanoff had a triple and scored two runs for the Padres, and Chase Headley had a two-run double.
