Schmidt's Woes Continue as Dodgers Fall

The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Milwaukee Brewers 4-1, dropping the best-of-three series. The Dodgers had an early advantage after Rafael Furcal hit a lead-off homer, but the offense stopped their, collecting only four hits for the rest of the game. Felipe Lopez had three hits and two runs scored for the Brewers, and Ryan Braun hit a two-run double that gave Milwaukee insurance. Jason Schmidt could not escape the fourth, leaving the bases loaded with two outs after already giving up two runs.

Loney's Double Saves Wolf in Win

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-5, their 36th win of the season. The Dodgers were in an early hole after Justin Upton hit a grand-slam that put Arizona up 5-0 in the second inning, but the Dodgers did not stop fighting. Andre Ethier hit a solo-homer, and LA broke out in the eighth inning. With the bases loaded, Orlando Hudson worked a walk and James Loney immediately followed with a 3-run double that tied the score. Casey Blake singled to drive Loney home for the game-winning run. Randy Wolf went six innings despite giving up five runs, and received his ninth no-decision of the season. Jonathan Broxton pitched a perfect ninth for his 12th save of the season. Felipe Lopez had two hits and scored twice for the D-Backs, and Dan Haren went seven innings, allowing only one run on two hits with seven strikeouts.

Wolf Feasts As Dodgers Win

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1, taking the three-game series two games to one. Randy Wolf pitched brilliantly, giving up just one run on two hits and two walks while striking out five. Matt Kemp had an RBI double and James Loney had two hits and an RBI. Wolf created a confusing play by lining out with Juan Pierre at second and Andre Ethier at third with one out. Because Felipe Lopez tagged out Pierre at second rather than tagging the base, that allowed Ethier to score. Lopez had two of the D-Backs' three hits, including a double, and scored the only run for Arizona.

McDonald's Debut is D-Back's Parade

The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-4, their first losing streak of the season. James McDonald made his first major league start for LA, but was roughed up for five runs in the third inning. Brad Ausmus started for Russell Martin and took advantage of the opportunity, getting two hits and an RBI. Manny Ramirez also had two hits and an RBI, and Matt Kemp scored two runs. Casey Blake had a two-run homer. Chris Young came up a triple short of the cycle for the Snakes, and scored three times. Felipe Lopez had two hits, runs and RBI's, and Conor Jackson knocked in three.
