The series against Arizona took a gruesome turn when Hiroki Kuroda was struck in the head by a line-drive. Medical analysis shows he will make a full recovery, and could begin pitching very soon this season. His Thursday start is doubtful.
SAT - The injury to Kuroda set the stage for a heart-wrenching 4-3 loss, where Jonathan Broxton gave up back-to-back home runs to Mark Reynolds and Miguel Montero to tie the game. Ramon Troncoso continued to struggle, giving up a hit and two walks before allowing a deep single to center to drive in the winning run.
SUN - The Dodgers managed to salvage their series with the D-Backs with a 9-3 blowout. Randy Wolf cruised through seven innings before hitting trouble in the eighth, and even contributed with the bat, falling a triple short of the cycle. Andre Ethier hit a three-run homer before the first out of the game could be recorded, and Orlando Hudson drove in two runs with his own home run.

Dodgers Take Series with Blowout Against Giants
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants 9-1, sealing a series victory against the Giants. Just like in the first game, San Francisco struck first, scoring a run in the third inning. The Dodgers came right back with four runs in the fifth, and for good measure they scored five in the seventh to clinch the victory. Randy Wolf went eight innings, allowing just the one run on three hits and one walk. Manny Ramirez had a double and a homer, collecting three RBI's and two runs scored when all was said and done. Matt Kemp had a three-run home run, and James Loney had two hits. Andre Ethier doubled twice, scoring twice and driving in two. Edgar Renteria had two hits for the Giants, and Fred Lewis scored the lone run.
Eric Stults was demoted to Triple-A Albuquerque. Knuckleballer Charlie Haeger was called up to replace him.

Dodgers Hammer Reds to Take Series
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Cincinnati Reds 12-3, becoming the first team in baseball to reach 60 wins. The Dodgers scored at least two runs in four of the first five innings, and Randy Wolf held the Reds to just two runs for his fifth win of the season. Manny Ramirez tripled and drove in two runs before leaving the game after being hit on the hands by a pitch. Matt Kemp and Rafael Furcal both homered, and James Loney scored three runs and knocked in two runs. Wolf had a double, RBI and run scored, and Furcal finished with four runs-batted-in and two runs scored. Cincinnati collected only five hits; Joey Votto homered and Jonny Gomes drove in a run.
Manny left the game after being struck on the left hand by a pitch. He immediately underwent an x-ray, which came up negative. Manny will be day-to-day.
Orlando Hudson returned to the lineup after sitting out just one game. Hudson injured his left wrist after running into an Astros pitcher on Sunday. That same wrist underwent surgery last year, and as a result Hudson cannot bend it backwards.

The Dodgers left nine men on base, and batted a collective 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position. Orlando Hudson was the sole bright spot of the game, notching three hits including a double. Kaz Matsui doubled and drove in a run for the 'Stros, and Humberto Quintero hit his first homer of the year.

Dodgers Pummel Mets for Series Victory
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets 11-2, taking the series two games to one. The Dodgers led before the first out could be recorded, and scored enough runs in the first inning to win the game. LA totaled 17 hits, and Randy Wolf's shaky outing was enough to get him his fourth win of the season. Rafael Furcal doubled twice and scored three runs, Manny Ramirez had two hits, RBI's and runs scored, and Andre Ethier collected two runs. Casey Blake drove in and scored a run, and Orlando Hudson had a three-run double. Matt Kemp had three hits, and Russell Martin had two runs-batted-in. David Wright had two hits and scored a run for the Mets, and Gary Sheffield drove in a run.
Orlando Hudson was struck by a pitch on the leg, and had to be replaced with a pinch-runner. He will be in the lineup for Friday's game in Milwaukee.
Randy Wolf changed his number to help him get his fourth win. He previously wore #21, but after four out of five of his last starts ended in a no-decision he changed it to #43, the record he hoped to reach with tonight's start. He did get the win.

Randy Wolf gave up two runs in six innings, but helped is cause with a two-run single that tied the game. The bullpen held serve for the rest of the game, throwing seven scoreless combined innings, allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out 13. Juan Pierre had three hits, and Casey Blake scored the winning run. Matt Kemp and Russell Martin both had a hit and run scored. James McDonald received his second career win after pitching a perfect 13th. Ryan Spillborghs hit a two-run homer for the Rockies, their only offense of the game.
Manny Ramirez went 1-for-3 with two strikeouts in his final rehab appearance for Single-A Inland Empire.
The Dodgers saw a familiar face in the visitor's dugout in the form of Jim Tracy. Tracy managed the Dodgers from 2001 to 2005, taking them to the playoffs just once in 2004. Tracy is the interim manager of the Rockies, having assumed the job after Clint Hurdle was fired.

Homers Abound as ChiSox Beat Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Chicago White Sox 10-7, evening the series at a game apiece. The White Sox scored every run courtesy of the homer, as five of the Chicago Nine went deep. Randy Wolf was tossed around despite having a 3-1 lead for a cushion early in the game. Corey Wade entered the game in relief, and he was battered as well. Matt Kemp hit his own homer, a three-run tater, and Mark Loretta scored twice and drove in a run. James Loney scored two runs, and Orlando Hudson had an RBI. Alexei Ramirez, Paul Konerko, Jermaine Dye, Josh Fields, and Jayson Nix each smacked a home run, with Fields hitting two.

Dodgers Get Enough to Beat A's
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Oakland Athletics 3-2, taking the interleague series two games to one. Oakland scored first, but Orlando Hudson drove a home run into center-field to tie the game. The Dodgers scored again in the fifth inning, but the A's came back as Rajai Davis took advantage of a fielding blunder; Rafael Furcal directed Juan Pierre to throw to second-base after a single sent Davis to third. Davis saw the throw go to second, and immediately left for home and scored. However, LA took the lead for good in the seventh. Pierre had an RBI-single, and Mark Loretta knocked in the go-ahead run. Casey Blake had two hits and helped start three double-plays. Russell Martin and James Loney both had a hit and scored a run. Ramon Troncoso recorded two outs in the ninth for his fifth save of the season. Randy Wolf allowed only one run in six innings, but did not receive a decision. Kurt Suzuki had an RBI-double for the A's, and Matt Holliday also doubled but did not come around to score.
Jonathan Broxton was unavailable for the game due to a sore big right toe.
The win gave manager Joe Torre his 2,195th career managerial victory, putting him fifth on the all-time list. He passed Sparky Anderson after tying him on Tuesday.

Dodgers Overcome Delay, Irony for Victory
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Texas Rangers 3-1, snapping a two-game losing streak. The game was scoreless through five innings before a power failure that caused a bank of lights to fail became too big of a distraction. The game consequently was delayed for an hour and 40 minutes. As soon as the contest resumed, Juan Pierre scored in the sixth to give the Dodgers an early 1-0 lead. However, former Dodger and local irritant Andruw Jones homered to tie the game. Matt Kemp responded though, hitting a two-run home run in the next frame to give LA the lead for good. The bullpen held down after Randy Wolf pitched five scoreless innings, who had to be lifted due to the delay. Rafael Furcal had an RBI and a double, and Orlando Hudson collected two hits. Casey Blake also doubled. The 4-6 hitters in the Texas lineup all failed to get a hit; both Michael Young and Ian Kinsler singled.
Jonathan Broxton pitched a perfect ninth for his 15th save of the season after returning from Georgia for the birth of his son.

Loney's Double Saves Wolf in Win
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-5, their 36th win of the season. The Dodgers were in an early hole after Justin Upton hit a grand-slam that put Arizona up 5-0 in the second inning, but the Dodgers did not stop fighting. Andre Ethier hit a solo-homer, and LA broke out in the eighth inning. With the bases loaded, Orlando Hudson worked a walk and James Loney immediately followed with a 3-run double that tied the score. Casey Blake singled to drive Loney home for the game-winning run. Randy Wolf went six innings despite giving up five runs, and received his ninth no-decision of the season. Jonathan Broxton pitched a perfect ninth for his 12th save of the season. Bullpen Crumlbes in First W/O Manny
The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Washington Nationals 11-9, their first loss at home. The loss came just hours after Manny Ramirez was suspended for 50 games after testing positive for a banned substance. The Dodgers broke out of the gate early, scoring six runs in the first inning, including a grand slam from Matt Kemp. Randy Wolf was solid, allowing only a run in six innings of work. However, the bullpen could not hold the lead, as Ramon Troncoso, Corey Wade, Will Ohman, Brent Leach, Guillermo Mota, and James McDonald combined to give up 10 runs, 13 hits, and two walks in just three innings of work. LA tried to come from behind in the ninth, scoring two runs, but ultimately fell short. Casey Blake came up a homer short of a cycle, and Kemp finished with five RBI's. James Loney and Russell Martin both had two hits, scored twice, and one RBI. Adam Dunn had a double and three runs batted in for the Nats, and Anderson Hernandez scored three times. Nick Johnson three hits, three RBI's, and two runs scored.

Dodgers Are Walk-Off Happy
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 2-1 in 10 innings, their ninth straight home victory. Randy Wolf pitched a gem, allowing only one run on two hits, but walked four and left in the middle of the sixth. The bullpen helped out, shuting out the Friars in 4-and-two-thirds innings, allowing only two baserunners. Russell Martin had three hits, and Wolf doubled and scored LA's first run. Furcal sent Wolf home on his first base-hit of the game. The Padres finished with only three hits, and Edgar Gonzalez provided the only offense with a solo-homer.

However, Randy Wolf gave the lead right back, surrendering four runs in seven innings of work, including two in the bottom of the sixth to leave the game tied. James Loney doubled in Ethier to put LA up by one, but Ronald Belisario coughed up the lead, allowing two runs on three hits, one a home run. Ethier finished with three hits, including a double. Dodgers Take Come-From-Behind to Extend Streak

The game was in jeopardy going into the bottom of the seventh with LA trailing 3-0, but the boys in blue scored four runs in the inning to secure the win. Randy Wolf gave up the three runs in the first inning, but pitched perfectly after that, allowing only one hit in the other five innings while striking out seven. Rafael Furcal, Orlando Hudson, Manny Ramirez, Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier each reached base in the deciding seventh, and Mark Loretta had the game-winning RBI by driving in Ethier who reached second on a double. Kemp also had a double. Jonathan Broxton had a five-out save while striking out four to secure his fourth save of the season. Brad Hawpe had a two-run homer for the Rockies, and Garrett Atkins had a double, RBI, and run scored.

Wolf Feasts As Dodgers Win
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1, taking the three-game series two games to one. Randy Wolf pitched brilliantly, giving up just one run on two hits and two walks while striking out five. Matt Kemp had an RBI double and James Loney had two hits and an RBI. Wolf created a confusing play by lining out with Juan Pierre at second and Andre Ethier at third with one out. Because Felipe Lopez tagged out Pierre at second rather than tagging the base, that allowed Ethier to score. Lopez had two of the D-Backs' three hits, including a double, and scored the only run for Arizona.
